About
Hi, I'm Miso Girl.
I'm here to share recipes and stories about food and wine, particularly simple cooking tips from my native Japan and my husband Alberto's home country of Italy.
I live on Wurundjeri Country with Alberto, our son and two dogs.
Our hope is to start building an online community that will eventually take off in real life, whether it be in the form of pop-up workshops or even a restaurant.
Taru means "barrel" in Japanese. Barrels have historically been used widely for brewing, storing and transporting beverages such as whiskey or sake, and fermented condiments such as vinegar or soy sauce. As for wine though, I prefer a neutral taste over oak.
